Increasing Saudi Universities Internet Speeds

King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology represented by the Saudi Research and Innovation Network (Maeen Network), and in cooperation with the Integrated Communications Company (ITC), have increased the Internet bandwidth for universities in the Kingdom for free during the current study suspension period and the continuation of education through e-learning and distance learning, as part of the preventive measures taken by the Kingdom to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

The initiative comes to support university students and employees, raise the quality of virtual classes and educational platforms, improve access to national digital services, and accelerate the process of uploading educational materials.

It is worth mentioning that KACST provides researchers, educators, and university students with many services through Maeen Network. In addition to its ability to achieve the speed and efficiency requirements of scientific research, Maeen Network provides access to unique applications and services. Maeen Network also supports many public and private universities. Currently, there are 28 universities connected with Maeen Network.
